Unlike Kiryu, Goro earned his nickname and respect among the Tojo Clan due to his combat ability above all else. The Mad Dog of Shimano is the strongest Tojo Clan member simply due to his nature of embracing sheer violence and respecting those who are physically strong. (and even if you beat him, it’s still Kiryu that is panting afterwards while Majima doesn’t break a sweat). Maybe not a threat per say, but Majima does beat Kiryu in this game after Kiryu is released from prison. Majima also appears in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life as a minor character, and reappears as a major character and summonable ally alongside Saejima in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. His personality was influenced by Nishitani, Lee & Sera during the events of Yakuza 0. It was the Dojima Family where he unleashed his Mad Dog of Shimano personality after a Dojima assassin almost killed Makoto infront of him & later rampaged against the Dojima family. With their marriage destroyed and Majima believing he was doing Park more harm than good by staying, the two divorced, and he left for Kamurocho. Majima, feeling betrayed by his wife, hit her. Majima defeats the leader and the rest of his men, and leaves Lee behind to rescue Makoto. Suddenly, Lee is shot in the abdomen by the leader and collapses from the pain and blood loss. Who killed Lee Yakuza 0?īarely able to move, Lee tells Majima to help Makoto get away from the yakuza because he is the only one who can. His eyelid appears to still be intact, presumably due to Majima keeping his eye open when it was stabbed. He is missing his left eye, which was gouged out for insubordination in 1985. In addition, the circumstances behind Nishitani and Majima appearing for the first time in Kiwami are very similar. Nishitani’s intro animation from his boss battles is reused as Majima’s intro animation in his battles in Kiwami, a possible nod to Majima being inspired by Nishitani. That’s why Kiryu calls him san/aniki/nii-san. Majima is older than Kiryu, joined yakuza years before him and his rank is higher. He went from being treated like s*** to no longer taking s*** from anyone. He went through an obsessive amount in Yakuza 0 and it was the people he fought against. If you remember, Majima is actually the same in the flashback in Yakuza 4. Majima leaves Makoto in Lee’s care as he says he’ll figure out a way to get them out of the situation without killing a woman unrelated to the incident.

… They have a unique type of “bromance” about them in their relationship, whereby Majima is very fond of Kiryu and Kiryu has great respect for Majima. The use of “-chan” indicates closeness and suggests to us that Majima is very fond of Kiryu. In addition Why does Majima call Kiryu Chan? … The only people with his guaranteed allegiance are his sword brother, Taiga Saejima, and Kazuma Kiryu, his longtime friend. Equally notable is Goro Majima, a man who is as often Kiryu’s ally as he is an enemy.

When it comes to the Yakuza series, Kazuma Kiryu isn’t the only beloved and iconic character.

He and Majima fight, and after he loses, Majima demands further answers from him, but he is shot and killed by Ibuchi, who admits to paying off Kawamura’s debts in exchange for his loyalty.
