I washed that car yesterday and the hood wouldn't even let the soapy suds stay on it!! I literally squeezed some soapy, sudsy wash water onto the hood and it promptly whisked itself away to the ground!!! Wow! When the package from Auotgeek arrived, I was so anxious to try the insulator wax that I waxed only the hood on the Speed 3 just to get a feel on how it was going to work. Just keep in mind that the BMW is on a every other week rotation with a Mazdaspeed 3 so this may take some time. I'll be updating how these two waxes hold up relative to one another as the weeks go by. The outside temperature was 72 here in Houston and the wax was easy enough to get on the terrycloth pad - use very little pressure while swirling it around in the tin and it will slowly transfer to the pad and you're ready to go. That small bottle the wax came in will last quite some time, judging by how little I used in this idiotic experiment. The insulator wax is quite thin and it was a breeze to put a thin coat on the paint with that foam applicator. I removed both with a combo of first pass microfiber towel followed with a final pass of 100% cotton cloth. Then apply 2 coats of RejeX with 12 hour cure time inbetween. If you use it, you need to wash your car really well with Dawn soap/Simple Green first to get rid of all wax. I always use a "thin is in" approach to car waxing mostly because I am lazy and don't care much for hard to remove wax projects. If I was you, I'd get away from wax all together and just use RejeX. Suprizingly both products were very easy to apply - I used a foam applicator for the insulator wax and a plain old terrycloth wax applicator pad for the 476s.
Rejex vs collinite drivers#
The Insulator wax got applied to the front bumper, hood, drivers side of the car, rear bumper and backside of the trunklid. I used Rejex on the new corvette and Finish First on the Rav 4.Buy Rejex on Amazo. Rejex is much easier to remove than Collinite. Rejex absolutely sucked on my polished chrome center caps, they quickly flash rusted with Rejex on them. Rejex makes water bead off the surface better. Rejex works better on silver than Collinite did. The 476s got applied to the trunk (top), roof and passenger side of the car. Comparing two popular auto polishes to see if one is better than the other. Collinite 476 looks better on deep colors, like midnight blue, and black. The test subject is my '02 330ci which has had nearly every wax on the planet used on it and a WHOLE LOT of Griots Garage too. A visit to rendered a bottle of the Insulator wax and a tin of the 476s. Part 2 (9 week later comparison) Collinite 845 vs Rejex vs Mckee's 37 Test vehicle 2006 Buick (original paint job) Vehicle is kept outside year round in FL sun. After reading here how durable the Collinite products are, I decided to give them a try.
